Machine File (including Loading & Saving)

A machine file contains the physical parameters of a machine. The information includes the machine type (punching, cutting, combination, PDC), the driver used, whether there are work chutes, station data, etc. A machine file has the file name extension of *.mac, and is stored in the Turrets directory.

Normally, machine files for your existing machines are supplied when you purchase the software. However, you may need to modify the machine file. It is extremely important to input the correct information to generate accurate NC code. The documentation supplied with your machine lists the information necessary to create a machine file. See Understanding Machine Drivers for more info. Saving a Machine File
