Testimonials (Laser Cutting)
Amada offers a full range of laser models, from 1kW to 6kW,
that vary in design, configuration and automation options. No other
company is better equipped to match your cutting needs with the
ultimate laser cutting solution.
In order to become a more productive and profitable shop, learn what our
customers have to say about their Amada Laser Cutting Systems.
Traditionally, one of Beckett Air’s manufacturing strengths has been highly efficient, high volume stamping and semi-automated assembly. Nine years ago, Beckett Air was presented the opportunity to enter a highly customized low volume market.
The product offering was a “me too”, requiring Beckett Air to differentiate itself by offering lower prices, higher and consistent quality coupled with short lead times. The challenge was to find fabrication equipment that would contribute to the product differentiation. Equally challenging, was that Beckett Air had very little hands-on experience with this type of equipment.
The first piece of equipment on the “shopping” list was a high production laser for sheet metal that could also process short batch lots. Ultimately, the
LC2415 Pulsar
laser with an
LMP 3015
loader were picked over the competition due to the simple sheet loading features utilizing the
LMP 3015 Pulsar
, and the “drop door” feature and proven sheet handling of the Pulsar laser.
Our satisfaction with Amada then led us to buy an RGLD3512 press brake, an S1232 shear and (7) ID40ST spot welders. A second
LC2415 Pulsar
laser and
LMP 3015
autoloader were added a few years later as Beckett Air successfully penetrated this “new” market.
The ease of setup, operations, consistent cut quality, dependability, reliability, flexibility and support of all the Amada equipment has been a key factor in the success and growth of Beckett Air in this new product offering.

When the time studies of the same nesting run came back, Amada's time was 60% faster than the next best time. It was a massive production improvement. The
F1
lasers have allowed us to fully embrace lean/flow manufacturing and rapid prototyping. The
F1
lasers have also allowed us to bring all sub-contract laser cutting work in house. At the same time, we have been able to reduce inventory and increase inventory turns in the last 6 months. The repeatability and reliability of the
F1
lasers have given us the confidence to run true "Lights Out" production.
The F1 lasers are the latest of many Amada machines to be installed in our facility. It has truly been a pleasure to work with a company that takes such a high regard of their customers success.
Thank you to the entire Amada team for success of this project.

Immediately, we saw a reduction in scrap and an increase in part quality, material utilization and production. We were very pleased with the Amada laser and in the spring of 2006 we purchased our second
FO3015NT
and the Step 2A pass thru automation system consisting of a 10 self tower loading system and parts unloading to the other side of the system.
After the new system was in place, Amada incorporated the existing
FO3015NT
into the system. The result was amazing. The part flow was more than the brakes could handle so we had to move the brake press line next to the automation system. The new Amada system reduced our turnaround time and increased our output from 55 units a day to 95 units a day and doubled our Kan Ban parts. This allowed us to eliminate our third shift. In addition, we were able to bring 100% of our out-sourced parts in house drastically reducing our parts cost. Due to the production increase we were able to eliminate some other equipment which freed up 2000 Sq. feet of floor space. The new Amada system enabled us to reduce our scrap our rate by 15%. Being we use 100% stainless steel, this was a huge savings.
One great benefit of the system was not having to ramp up the work force for our seasonal upturn. We were constantly bringing in new people and training them. The cost for this was staggering.
Another major benefit is safety. The loading automation eliminates human intervention and makes the process much safer.

The need to separate ourselves from the pack led us to the decision to buy a CO
2
laser cutter and press brake. We evaluated five different manufacturers and both used and new machines. We decided on the HDS press brake,
FO3015NT
4000 watt flying optic laser, and EZ-Cut Nitrogen generator system offered by Amada America for a number of different reasons. The highest of them being with every expectation that this new venture will be successful Amada has the most complete line of precision sheet metal equipment. They also have a reputation for building reliable machinery and having the best service in the industry.
The Amada
FO3015NT
laser machine has proved to fill every possible requirement. The 4000 watt RF exited Fanuc resonator is reliable and is inexpensive to operate. It offers excellent part edge quality and the necessary cutting speeds to meet our production requirements. I’m most impressed by their solid service and support. These savings have been passed along to the customer further strengthening our customer relationships. The purchase of the Amada laser has taken Aranda Tooling out of the stamped metal supplier category with our customers and made us a strategic partner.
