A macro is "defined" by clicking this icon and then grouping patterns in the work area. Defining a macro requires two steps: (1) drag out and finalize a box around the patterns, and then (2) left-click to place the macro origin.
For example, to define two round holes and an obround as a macro, select Define and drag out a box enclosing the patterns, clicking again to close the box. For the system to recognize the macro, the origin must be set by clicking anywhere on or near the patterns (the center is the usual place).
Notes: The user may right-click during step 1 to snap the cursor to the nearest snap point.
It is best to use Macro options while in Part View, however, Macros can be used in Sheet View as well.
