Function Keys

The computer keyboard has function keys arranged in one row along the top or in two rows along the left side. The function keys are labeled F1 through F12.

<F2>

Snap
On/Off

The <F2> key toggles between the two modes for snap points whenever the cursor is inside the work window.

 

 

Note: Press <Shift> + <F2> to toggle the IntelliSnap feature.

<F3>

Border

The <F3> Key either displays or hides the part borders anytime the mouse pointer is inside the work area. You will probably hide the borders while you create the part and display the borders while you work on a sheet.

<F4>

Redraw

This function key redraws the work area anytime the cursor is inside the work area. You can customize this function key by defining the Display Options, thereby controlling what redraws during the current task.

Part

This function key toggles between the PART View and the SHEET View.

<F6>

Edit
Material

Opens the Material Information window.

<F7>

Select
Part

This function key allows you to select a part on the sheet or the sheet itself.

Undo

Redo

Users can Undo/Redo the operation after making drawing, sheet layout, or tool assignments.

Current
Part

In PART View, pressing <F10> saves the current part. It is saved either under the original name, or under the default name of “NEW PART”. In SHEET View, pressing <F10> saves the current sheet. It is saved under the original name, or with the default name of “NEW SHEET”. <F10> also saves special tools.

<F11>

Auto
Grid

Grids a part automatically. Auto Grid will automatically grid one instance of a part, but if the system detects multiple instances of a part, and/or different part(s) you must first define an area to auto grid.

<F12>

Bump Check
On/Off

This option allows a zone or protective border to be placed around a part. This allows the user to accurately arrange parts on the sheet while preventing the parts from overlapping each other.
