With Manually Join Paths choose which end points the system should consider as joined patterns to create one path. Use this option to group the end points of patterns that were added after a part was processed. Also, use this option if the end points do not intersect and are not within the Joint Tolerance value specified in the Cutting window.
To join paths, select Manually Join Paths from the Cut Sequence menu. In the work area, the pointer snaps only to those patterns having end points that can be joined. If the pointer moves onto the end point of an open path, the entire path highlights.
Move the pointer onto the end point and click. Move the pointer onto the other end point and click again. The system groups the patterns together as one path.
To join the line and arc as indicated by the arrows. | |
Select Manually Join Paths and move into the work area. The small crosshair will bounce only to the end points that can be joined. |
|
When prompted to select the second pattern, use the right mouse button to toggle the highlight onto the arc. Click the left mouse button to select it. |
|
Move the pointer onto the line. (Use the right mouse button to toggle between patterns.) When the pattern appears highlighted, click the left mouse button. You will know you joined the patterns correctly if the cursor snaps away from the intersection. |
Notes:
You must enable Highlight Path in the Cutting Options panel of the Preferences window to control this feature.
Remember that if you have enabled Snap Mode, you can use the <Space Bar> to toggle between patterns that share a snap point. If Snap Mode is off, use the <Tab> key to toggle between patterns.
When pattern end points are grouped to form a closed shape, the pointer will not snap to these patterns. The system recognizes these patterns as a closed path.
