Hot Keys

Hot key shortcuts activate special functions during the part design process. Most of these hot keys function only when the Cursor Control window is open. (These Hot keys are useful in the Draw and Edit menu items.)

<Ctrl + Z>

Undo

Undo the Draw, Sheet, and Tool operations.

<Ctrl + Y>

Redo

Redo the Draw, Sheet, and Tool operations.

<X>

Lock X Coordinate

Locks the cursor at the current X-axis coordinate. The cursor can only move along the vertical axis after you press <X>. You can also type a number before <X> to specify the X-axis coordinate to use.

<Y>

Lock Y Coordinate

Locks the cursor at the current Y-axis coordinate. The cursor can only move along the horizontal axis after you press <Y>. You can also type a number before <Y> to specify the Y-axis coordinate to use.

<R>

Radius

Locks the radius at the current distance from the reference point. You can also type a number before <R> to specify the radius to use.

<A>

Angle

Locks the angle at the current distance from the reference point. You can also type a number before <A>.

<G>

Grid Movement

Defines the grid spacing. Requires two numbers, one for the X direction and the second for the Y direction before pressing <G>.

<C>

Dynamic Calculator

Activates the Dynamic Calculator.

<S>

Cursor Step

Defines the cursor step. Typing a number and pressing <S> specifies how far the cursor moves each time you press an arrow key.

<O>

Dynamic Origin

Pressing <O> moves the cursor into the work area and defines a new temporary origin. You can also point to the proper location and click the left mouse button to choose the placement.

<B>

Base Line Origin

After you begin to draw a pattern, this allows you use the part’s reference point rather than the pattern’s start point as the origin.

<Ctrl + W>

Dynamic Zoom

While using other options, you can press <Ctrw + W> to enlarge the view. Unlike the Zoom In option, dynamic zoom allows you to enlarge the view without canceling the current operation.

<V>

View All

This command works with dynamic zoom. Pressing <V> allows you to see the entire work area.

<P>

Pan

This command shifts the work area view. Press <P>, and then click the spot you want to shift. Stretch the rubber-band line in the direction you want to shift the view, and click the left mouse button again.
